What is the difference between a Certified Member and a Member?
Both Certified Members and Members are committed to the promotion of integrity in the online gaming industry. However, certified members take it a couple of steps further by meeting a set of Minimum Requirements. Further, Certified Memberships are only granted to online institutions accepting wagers (i.e. online casinos, online sports books, online lotteries, online bingos, online race books, etc.).
We strongly recommend our visitors only play at online institutions that are certified members of the OGA.
How does and online establishment become certified?
The first step in the certification in process is to verify that your institution meets the OGA Minimum Requirements. Then proceed to Registration Page. Before doing so, please be sure to gather the appropriate information including: date of inception, accurate URL, type of software used within the establishment, Country of License, customer service availability (including hours, type offered), games offered/bets accepted, payout scale, approximate number of players, payments accepted, any applicable charges for withdraws, bonuses offered and any stipulations to playing those bonuses.

How are certifications enforced?
Crucial to the OGA’s effectiveness is its enforcement authority. Typical infractions within the online gaming industry include, unfair play, partial odds, and the hesitance to payout a players winnings. At the heart of effective player protection is an educated and careful player. The OGA offers the public a wealth of educational information at our Certified Members page. Further, there is no greater watchdog than the players. The OGA will provide a public forum for players to voice their opinion, good or bad, on any institution gambling related.

What can a player do if he/she faces a problem with a certified site?
Problems do arise, and the OGA and its members have all intentions of getting to the bottom of any situation. The OGA, also believes that once certification is granted upon an online facility, that facility will take necessary measures to continue such status. With that being said, please inform us of any problems/situations that arise by visiting our File a Grievance page. Be sure to go into great detail of the situation, include the site where the problem occurred, as well as your player account or id number, so that we may be of better assistance in achieving a solution.

With it so easy to copy graphics these days, how do I know if a “Certified Member” is actually a certified member?
The best way to determine if a certified member is legitimate is to locate our icon on that institution’s website. Click on it. If you are taken to a page like this one, be assured that you have found an actual certified member. If you found an OGA icon on a site that does not link to the OGA website, please send an email to us and let us know.
Another option is to visit our Members page and follow the appropriate links. If you know the name of a specific casino, plug that name into our Search Engine.
